At BabyScan Derry, we are delighted to offer expectant mums the early pregnancy scan, gender scan and 3D4D scan.
Our Derry clinic is taking bookings for Saturdays and one evening per week. Please book online or phone us on 028 71271688.
You can self refer to BabyScan Derry and do not need a doctors letter.
The early pregnancy scan can be performed from 7 weeks, but ideally from 8 weeks of pregnancy until 14 weeks of pregnancy. The early pregnancy scan takes approximately 10/15 minutes. Our experienced sonographers will check for a heartbeat (which is the best indicator of a healthy baby at this stage), measure the baby and confirm your expected due date, and check for twins or multiples. At 8 weeks, the baby is still very small and shaped like a bean/peanut, whereas by 11/12 weeks gestation, the arms, legs and head are more visible on the scan. Clients will receive several 2D black and white prints of the scan.
Do you want to know your baby’s gender? At BabyScan Derry, we perform gender scans from 18 weeks of pregnancy. The gender scan takes approximately 15 minutes. As long as baby is in a good position, it usually only takes a few minutes to check the sex, so you spend the rest of the scan having a good look at baby in either 2D or 3D ultrasound, whichever you prefer. Clients will receive several prints of the scan to take home with them. If the baby is not in a good position to assess the gender, the sonographer will ask you to come back for a repeat appointment to recheck the sex again at no extra charge.
The 3D 4D ultrasound scan can provide a wonderful bonding experience for parents and families in our Derry clinic, being able to see and record your baby smiling, yawning, sucking it’s thumb and moving around in real time. The 3D4D scan is ideally performed between 24 and 30 weeks of pregnancy, you may also check the gender if you wish, but there is no problem if you would prefer that the sonographer kept it a secret! Clients will receive several 3D prints of the scan, a CD with further 3D images, and a DVD that will record the movements your baby makes during the scan. You are welcome to bring guests to your 3D4D scan, and the ultrasound session will be projected onto a large flat screen TV for everyone to enjoy!
I was up there with you last Thursday for a 3d scan and I just wanted to thank you very much for your time. The experience was amazing and well worth the money. Everyone at home couldn't believe and the whole thing was not rushed and the girl doing the scan was so nice and explained everything we were seeing as she was going along. My niece and my daughter who were also with us couldn't believe it and were blown away. They cannot wait for the baby to arrive now. So thank you very much for everything. Regards.
I came to your clinic in Swords on sat 28th aug for a 3D scan of my twins. I would just like to let you know that it was such an amazing experience and the sonographer (I think her name was Sheila) made the 3d scan experience even more enjoyable. She was so pleasant and it was obvious she loved the job she was doing, I would just like to pass on out thanks to her.
I came to your clinic in Cork last night for a 3D scan. I would like to thank the staff for a wonderful experience and their helpfulness. The girl who did the scan was very friendly and explained everything we were seeing. Thank you so much for everything.
I went to the Rathgar clinic on both this pregnancy and my last and I really enjoyed the service I got there. The people at the clinic really took their time and tried to get the best scan pictures possible. I was able to conform the sex of the baby no bother and as I went mid week I got some money off the price too, so I was delighted;)
