You can find your babies gender usually after 19 weeks.
Price: €120
We perform gender scans from 19 weeks onwards. The gender scan costs €120 and takes 15 minutes. As long as baby is in the right position, it only really takes five minutes to check the sex, so you spend the rest of the scan having a good look at baby in 2D or 3D ultrasound. You will receive 3 or 4 pictures to take home with you.
It is a good idea to drink a small fizzy drink about half an hour before the gender scan, as it tends to wake baby up and get him/her moving around so that if baby is not in the right position, it will be more likely to move into the right position.
No medical practitioner will guarantee 100% the gender of baby before delivery however, we are happy to give an 80/90% opinion as to gender based on what we can see on the gender scan and the excellent experience of our sonographers.
Should we not be able to give an opinion on the day (e.g. gender not obvious due to how baby is lying or crossed legs), we will be happy to make another gender scan appointment when hopefully baby will be in a more favourable position. Should a gender scan be unsuccessful there is a charge of €50 payable on the day, but this will be deducted from the full amount when you attend for rescanning.

We had a great visit to the Swords Clinic for a gender scan. The room was very comfortable with plenty of space for the many family members with me. It was really easy for them to watch the baby on the large TV. The staff were extremely professional, thorough and helpful. Our technician explained everything in detail. We were lucky to be able to find out that our baby is a healthy girl! Thank you so much for fitting us in over the busy Christmas period!
Just wanted to say I had a fantastic gender scan this past weekend in the Swords Plaza clinic! Very warm and welcoming staff and a great experience overall. Our sonographer found our little baby's gender quickly and we were able to spend the rest of the time just having a look at the baby! Fantastic experience - thanks!
